Dr. Eleni Marcantonis is an expert in the practice of cognitive behavioral therapy and in the treatment of Eating Disorders and Obesity. Dr. Marcantonis most recently appeared on the Dr. Oz show where she shared her expertise on the subject of Obesity, weight loss and relationships. She is currently authoring her book, “Think Before You Eat – The 7 Secrets of weight loss.” Dr. Marcantonis is also a forensic specialist and has served as an expert witness for the State of New Jersey. With over 500 hours of court testimony experience, Dr. Marcantonis has worked on some of the States’ most infamous cases. She has also worked as a Clinical Supervisor on Riker’s Island where she supervised the mental health center and suicide watch units. Dr. Marcantonis’ expertise draws on over 20 years of experience and solid research. Her experience has been called upon by media, industry and legal experts.
Dr. Eleni Marcantonis received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, and her Master’s degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State and has over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field. She completed her American Psychological Association approved internship at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in New Jersey and her post-doctoral hours at the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services.
Dr. Marcantonis is also the founder of Manhattan Cognitive Therapy Consultants, which is a large private practice in New York City, treating individuals for depression, anxiety, panic disorder, eating disorders, obesity and relationship issues.
